This image is from BBC's "The Big Picture." I don't need to explain any more than say that it was shot (no pun intended) in Mogadishu, Somalia. Obviously, life continues despite the ongoing civil war. Isn't it amazing to watch boys play soccer among ruins? Spectators carelessly sitting on the steps of bullet ridden, mortar blasted buildings juxtaposed against the drifting dark clouds. This is life for many yet I sit here typing at a keyboard listening to tunes that talk of love. Where is the love for humanity? Who should bear responsibility for making at least a decent soccer/football pitch? Unresolvable issues, centuries long, source of disillusion and anger. I played lots of soccer/football growing up minus the tattered buildings. The tarmac was our ground and we reenacted moves by Zico, Maradona and, of course, Pele. We went home with skinned knees and stories of glory. What story do you have to tell and will your post be reliable?
Today's track workout consisted of 12 x 400 with 00:00:60 seconds rest. Cliff and I paced each other, the heel held up and our splits ranged from 00:01:11 down to 00:01:04. Others doing their own workouts included an Olympian and champ.
