Hali ya hewa? The weather?

Weather report + a bit of language training. The temperature reports in Nairobi are set out in measures of "hotness." The reports from BBC's swahili language translated state:

Kipimo cha Joto Juu (translation (literally) - "temperature of heat high"). In Victoria, the temperature was 8°C
Chini (low) - 3°C
Upepo (wind) - 9(WNW)

A little on the cool side compared to the highs of 22°C in Nairobi. 8°C is a relief from all the drudgery since we have, at least, some warmth. I finally can put away some of the heavier jackets I have been wearing. Yesterday, I relieved some of the pressure from the last couple of days of no running by, of course, running an easy 00:40:00 on the Lochside trail wearing my latest technological gear. I am not into technology but having a digital player with the capacity to listen to some radio is an invention that is (in my view) unbeatable. I listened to some tunes that I had uploaded to my player then switched to CBC to listen to the daily events in and around Canada. It has been (lately) the only news I get. Most of my mornings are taken up by getting ready and rushing to catch the bus to work. The evenings are "family time" and by 9:00 p.m. I am done - having not listened to an iota of radio or watched any TV. I guess it doesn't help when you disconnect your cable. Anyway, it is what it is, just like the weather - you change everyday - a degree higher or lower. I now have adapted to the digital player listening when the opportunity presents itself or turning it off to enjoy the silence and rhythm of my breathing. Tomorrow, I am looking forward to some track work if the leg holds up as I have been having some heel issues (or is it an injury). The plan will depend on the condition of the body. It seems that my condition depends on, well, the conditions of the day. So, what was your weather like today?
